Medical Imaging

The Medical Imaging Department uses different types of radiation to create images used to diagnose or screen for an anomaly or a disease. Methods include:

  • echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound);
  • general echography (ultrasound);
  • magnetic resonance imaging (MRI);
  • mammography, including breast cancer screening and diagnostic mammography;
  • nuclear medicine;
  • bone densitometry;
  • general radiography (x-rays) and fluoroscopy;
  • computerized axial tomography (CT or CAT scan).
