In Zone 1B – Beauséjour, Zone 4 – Northwest, and Zone 6 – Acadie-Bathurst (Acadian Peninsula), the working language for all staff, including volunteers, is French. Therefore, a good command of French, both spoken and written, is necessary.
In Zone 5 – Restigouche and Zone 6 – Acadie-Bathurst (Bathurst region), the working language is both French and English.
However, regardless of the region, all patients have the right to receive services in the official language of their choice. As such, in some establishments or for certain specific roles, a good knowledge of spoken French and English is required. In these cases, it is essential that volunteers be able to understand and explain instructions clearly in order to provide quality service in both official languages.

Begin by determining whether you have enough time each week to volunteer. Then, think about your interests, skills or career plans – this will help us determine where you could volunteer.
We are looking for motivated, energetic and customer service-oriented people who want to help others, people who are positive, caring, sensitive to the needs of others and committed in what they do. Volunteers also need to be available on a regular basis to meet our needs two to four hours a week.
Please submit your application here. If you have any difficulties, please contact Volunteer Services in your region by phone or in person to get a form.
Since the majority of patient services are provided during weekdays, we have a greater need for volunteers who are available during the day, Monday through Friday. However, some facilities offer the opportunity to volunteer in the evening or on weekends.
All volunteers can park free of charge while on duty.
No. Only candidates who have a home address in the region where one of the Vitalité Health Network’s facilities is located will be considered.
Although we welcome volunteers who have experience in health care, volunteer tasks are general in nature and do not give you the opportunity to put your professional skills into practice. Your role will allow you to discover a Canadian healthcare environment but will not give you the opportunity to practice or develop clinical or technical skills.
