Important Changes at Tracadie Hospital Emergency Department on Saturday
Vitalité Health Network, Saturday, August 17, 2024 – Vitalité Health Network is informing the population of the Acadian Peninsula of an important change at the Tracadie Hospital Emergency Department this Saturday.
The service will be closed this Saturday, August 17, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
This change is due to a critical shortage of nursing staff.
During this period, people requiring urgent medical care will have to go to the nearest hospital, either the Enfant-Jésus RHSJ† in Caraquet or the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
All ambulances will be rerouted to other hospitals. If you have a medical emergency, you must go to the ER of the nearest hospital or call 911.
If you're unsure whether your condition requires a visit to the ER, you can call the Tele-Care health line at 811.
People looking for an alternative to a visit to the ER can make an appointment with their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, go to a walk-in clinic, contact Tele-Care (811) or go online to eVisitNB.
The Network thanks the public for their understanding and precious co-operation.
