The Healthy Trail includes a walking area with benches and natural obstacles, a training circuit adapted to young people and their families, as well as a play area for teenagers designed to encourage communication and relaxation. A community garden for adults has been added to the trail as a therapeutic tool.
“This project reflects the commitment to overall community health, especially that of its children”, said Jean-Guy Robichaud, Chair of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation.
“The Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation is very proud to continue its partnership with the Vitalité Health Network. This creative project is an additional tool for our hospital’s healthcare professionals to better serve and care for patients of all ages who suffer from mental health issues. Thanks to the generosity of our partners, we have been able to provide physical facilities for the Healthy Trail with an investment of nearly $200,000,” he said.
This initiative will enable healthcare professionals to develop a program in partnership with people who experienced mental health issues and community resources.
