Creation of the New Brunswick Health Research Institute
The Université de Moncton and Vitalité Health Network have joined forces to launch the New Brunswick Health Research Institute (NBHRI), a new non-profit organization dedicated to transforming health research in the province.
The result of the transformation of the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute (ACRI), the Institute is expanding its scope to include other crucial health issues, with the ongoing goal of meeting the real needs of communities.
The NBHRI will pool resources and expertise to stimulate research and accelerate the development of health care innovations. Its work will focus on:
- Cancer prevention and treatment;
- Aging and seniors' health;
- Mental health and neuroscience;
- Health promotion and chronic disease prevention;
- Improving the performance of the health care system.
