Students from the Northwest discover careers in health care
More than 400 youth from the Northwest were invited to attend a health care professions discovery day in Edmundston.
The “Come Discover Careers at Vitalité Health Network” event gave them the opportunity to meet professionals, learn more about their work, and explore the wide range of careers available in the hospital environment.
Students were able to talk with employees from different fields, including nursing, medical imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, food services, human resources, clinical engineering, and facilities management.
This exploratory activity was designed to raise awareness of the many career opportunities in health care and inspire the next generation to pursue professions that play a vital role in the health care system.
Students from several French- and English-language schools in the region took part in the activity, which was held in partnership with organizations such as CCNB, the Université de Moncton, Edmundston Campus, and Ambulance New Brunswick.
