The Nursing Centre of Excellence, a first in Canada

Vitalité Health Network becomes the first acute care facility in Canada to take part in the Canadian Nurses Association's (CNA) Stellar Program, which recognizes excellence in nursing workplaces.

The certification, valid for four years, evaluates six standards:

nursing voice
leadership excellent
education and career progression
resourcing
practice environment
optimizing care

The Campbellton and Tracadie hospitals are the pilot facilities for this first phase. Over time, the Network plans to obtain certification for all nursing units that care for admitted patients.
