Edmundston local family health team expands

Edmundston's local family health team will welcome 10 new recruits, giving it the capacity to expand its patient base: four nurse practitioners, one physician, three licensed practical nurses and two administrative assistants will strengthen access to care in the region.

The team plans to take on 3,500 additional patients over the next year. These arrivals will also help offset the departure of one physician, ensuring continued access to a primary care provider for 760 patients.

The new professionals join an already well-established team of fourteen physicians, one nurse practitioner, seven licensed practical nurses, two registered nurses and one social worker.

Result
The Edmundston team offers its 13,500 patients access to an appointment within 48 hours for minor emergencies.
