Emergency

The Emergency Department provides immediate care for various problems, ranging from uncomplicated to life-threatening situations.

The multidisciplinary team of the Emergency Department includes:

  • Physicians;
  • Nursing staff;
  • Respiratory therapists;
  • Pharmacists;
  • Attendants and clerks.

The Emergency Department reports about 60,000 visits a year.

A triage nurse sees all patients who come to the Emergency Department. She assesses their condition to determine their priority so that the most urgent cases are seen and treated first. The nurse uses a standardized system that meets national standards to set the priority order for cases. The Emergency Department is committed to treating every patient as quickly as possible.

Individuals who are more seriously ill are treated before the others, even if they arrived at the Emergency Department later. This policy is essential to ensure that all patients who come to the Emergency Department receive the care they require.
