COVID-19: visits by designated support persons temporarily suspended on several units in Vitalité Health Network Hospitals

Vitalité Health Network, Monday, January 3, 2022 – Vitalité Health Network advises the public that the presence of designated support persons is temporarily suspended in the following units due to a possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus or outbreaks:

  • Medical Unit - Enfant-Jésus Hospital RHSJ, in Caraquet;
  • Medical Unit - Edmundston Regional Hospital;
  • Acute Psychiatry Unit – Restigouche Hospital Centre;
  • Medical Unit – Campbellton Regional Hospital;
  • Surgical I Unit – Edmundston Regional Hospital;
  • Multipurpose Unit – Grand Falls General Hospital;
  • Surgical II Unit – Edmundston Regional Hospital;
  • Extended Care Unit – Edmundston Regional Hospital;
  • Veterans Unit – Campbellton Regional Hospital;
  • Rehabilitation Unit (3F) – Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, in Moncton;
  • Medical Unit - 2nd West – Chaleur Regional Hospital, in Bathurst;
  • Intensive Care Unit – Chaleur Regional Hospital, in Bathurst.

These measures will be in place until further notice.

These temporary measures are in place to protect the health and safety of our patients, health care workers and community.

We understand that families and friends find it difficult to be separated from their loved ones during the Holiday Season. We encourage people to use technology to stay in touch with our patients.

What to do if you've potentially been exposed

Self monitor for any symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days after the potential exposure.

If any COVID-19 symptoms develop, book a COVID-19 PCR laboratory test or by calling 811.
