Among these optimizations are the implementation of new practices, such as professional triads at the health clinic, reintegration of the community advisory committee after a decade of inactivity, as well as intensification of the SJCHC’s role as a health promoter with the people through the organization of activities.

“The addition of staff as well as the adoption of a new work culture that emphasizes communication and collaboration have been key factors in building the Centre’s capacities,” said Marie-Claude Thériault, Facility Activities Manager, St-Joseph Community Health Centre. “By focusing on health determinants, we have enhanced our communication with the community, which strengthens cooperation and mutual understanding,” she added.

As for the projects carried out, SJCHC has invested in new equipment designed to improve the comfort of patients and staff. This includes upgrading hemodialysis treatment chairs, assessing the ergonomics and organization of workstations, purchasing printers for the offices of nurse practitioners and physicians, as well as installing water and ice dispensers and vending machines with healthy food options.
