Intermittence in the birth delivery services at the Campbellton Regional Hospital
Campbellton, Friday, December 20, 2019 – Vitalité Health Network announces that obstetrical services (delivery) offered at the Campbellton Regional Hospital will be reopened to the public from December 23, 2019, from 8 a.m. to January 6, 2020, at 8 a.m. After which, these services will be closed for an indefinite period of time.
Once again, this situation is due to a lack of pediatricians at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. “We are doing our best to restore stability to our services offered to patients as we are seriously affected by a lack of pediatricians. Obstetrical and pediatrics services will definitely remain weakened in the coming weeks”, said Gilles Lanteigne, President and CEO of Vitalité Health Network.
The Network reminds pregnant women that they can go to the Campbellton Regional Hospital to obtain an assessment and receive basic services. For any questions or concerns related to this matter, they can call 506-789-5068 to speak with trained and qualified nurses.
It should be recalled that deliveries are interrupted at the Campbellton Regional Hospital since November 22 due to extreme patient overload conditions that forced the Network to take a series of exceptional measures to restore the normal functioning of the facility.
The Network will reassess the situation on January 10, 2020, and apologizes for the inconvenience it has caused.
