Mental health and addiction services available through virtual appointments
Bathurst, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 – The Network informs the public that mental health and addiction services are available through virtual appointments so that patients can receive improved follow-up.
According to Jessica Paradis, social worker in the Restigouche Zone, some people unfortunately lack transportation while others are affected by the preventive measures outlined by Public Health and prefer to stay home.
“Adding virtual appointments has allowed us to improve access for the public and provide our clients with regular follow-up despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic. Appointments can now therefore take place at our facilities, by telephone or in front of a computer,” she added.
Virtual appointments allow health professionals to offer the following services:
- Individual therapy;
- Support groups;
- Group therapy;
- Interdisciplinary meetings.
