The Medical Imaging Department uses different types of radiation to create images used to diagnose or screen for an anomaly or a disease. Methods include:
- echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound);
- general echography (ultrasound);
- magnetic resonance imaging (MRI);
- mammography, including breast cancer screening and diagnostic mammography;
- nuclear medicine;
- bone densitometry;
- general radiography (x-rays) and fluoroscopy;
- computerized axial tomography (CT or CAT scan).
