Vitalité Health Network adjusts to change to yellow phase in some areas of Zone 4 (Northwest)
Edmundston, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 – The change to yellow phase in the Edmundston, Haut-Madawaska and Grand Falls areas is allowing the Network to relax some restrictions on visitation and to gradually return to normal service delivery at the Edmundston Regional Hospital and Grand Falls General Hospital.
Patient services
Surgery, ambulatory care, rehabilitation and medical imaging services can now return to more normal service levels in both Edmundston and Grand Falls. “Of course, service delivery depends on the availability of resources during the pandemic, given that the Network must also deliver COVID-19 screening and vaccination services,” explained Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO of Vitalité Health Network.
Safety measures remain in place
The Network reminds people that medical masks are compulsory for patients and visitors / accompanying persons entering any of our facilities (exception: children under age 2). This requirement is designed to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff and to reduce as much as possible the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Hand hygiene is also required when entering or leaving any of our facilities.
Visitation policy
General patient visits are allowed between 2:00 and 8:00 pm by one healthy visitor at a time. The Network also allows one designated support person to be present, on a flexible schedule.
