Vitalité Health Network asks people of the Restigouche to reduce demand for emergency services
Campbellton, Monday, August 3, 2021 – The Network asks that the people of Restigouche and surrounding areas limit their visits to the emergency room, except in cases of an emergency, at the Emergency Department of the Campbellton Regional Hospital to help relive congestion in the care units. This is due to a lack of nursing staff within the facility.
The facility’s Emergency Department remains available for people who need urgent care and who wish to see a doctor. However, the Network asks people whose health condition is not critical to see their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, visit a walk-in clinic or call the Tele-Care service (811).
Those who nevertheless come to the Emergency Department for non-urgent reasons must be patient and expect longer than usual waits.
The Network thanks the public for their valuable collaboration.
