The renovation of Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph includes several large-scale projects:
- In the Emergency Department, the floor was replaced with a new epoxy floor, the cabinets were updated, the walls were repainted and a new covering was installed. The Network provided $165,000 of the necessary costs;
- The floor of the outpatient clinics was also replaced with vinyl or epoxy flooring. These improvements were funded by the Network, and the total cost of the project will be communicated once it is finalized;
- The facility’s main entrance doors were also improved to make entering and exiting easier, while boosting the level of infection prevention. This project was made possible thanks to a generous contribution of $50,000 from the Fondation Dr. Romaric Boulay and financial support of $57,433 from Vitalité Health Network;
- An outdoor patio project was completed thanks to donations from the Fondation des Coopérants de la Co-op de Saint-Quentin, the Fondation Dr. Romaric Boulay and Vitalité Health Network. These contributions enabled the purchase of outdoor furniture, thus improving the outdoor space of our facility for the benefit of the community.
“None of this would have been possible without the involvement of the community,” says Sindy Turcotte, Manager of Hospital Activities and Non-Clinical Services and Facility Representative, Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph de Saint-Quentin.
“The volunteers and benefactors are the true pillars of Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph de Saint-Quentin. It is thanks to them and the members of our communities that we can celebrate the 60th anniversary of this jewel today,” she added.
Several distinguished guests were on site to celebrate the achievements, development and importance of Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph for the municipality of Saint-Quentin and the surrounding area, including the mayor of Saint-Quentin, Nicole Sommers.
