Vitalité Health Network seeking nurse mentors

Vitalité Health Network, May 29, 2024 – Over the course of 2023, Vitalité Health Network developed and implemented a mentoring program to support new nursing staff.

Retired registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and patient care attendants are now being invited to take part in this initiative and continue their contribution to the health care system.

The main mission of the mentors is to provide support to recent graduates or foreign-trained nurses to improve their reception, orientation and integration into the workplace.

This professional support includes opportunities to exchange ideas, share experiences and develop a relationship of trust.

Allison White, Corporate Director of Nursing, notes that the need is particularly great in the Campbellton area.

“Mentors have the opportunity to invest in the professional development of our new employees and to contribute to their successful integration by offering them an attentive ear and valuable advice,” explains Ms. White.

“Acting as a role model, a support and a source of encouragement is a very rewarding experience.”

Schedules are flexible, adapting to each mentor's availability.

Individuals interested in paid mentoring opportunities can contact Patrick Houndeton, Administrative Assistant, Nursing Administration, by sending an email to patricklionel.houndeton [at] vitalitenb.ca or calling 506-862-4265.
