Important changes at the Enfant-Jésus RHSJ† Hospital Emergency Department on Saturday

Vitalité Health Network, Saturday, July 20, 2024 – Vitalité Health Network is informing the population of the Acadian Peninsula of an important change at the Enfant-Jésus RHSJ† Hospital Emergency Department on Saturday.

The service will be closed from noon to 11:59 p.m on Saturday, July 20.

This change is due to an unexpected critical shortage of nursing staff.

During that period, anyone requiring emergency medical care will need to go to the closest hospital, either the Tracadie Hospital or the Chaleur Regional Hospital.

All ambulances will be rerouted to other hospitals. If you have a medical emergency, you must go to the ER of the nearest hospital or call 911.

If you're not sure whether your condition requires a visit to the ER, you can call the Tele-Care health line at 811.

People looking for an alternative to a visit to the ER can make an appointment with their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, go to a walk-in clinic, contact Tele-Care (811) or go online to eVisitNB.

The Network thanks the public for their understanding and precious co-operation.
