Two New Brunswick nurses awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal
April 26, 2013 - Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network are pleased to congratulate two nurses who have recently received a national honourary distinction. Lisa Guidry, nurse practitioner in gerontology with Horizon Health Network, and Natalie Haché Losier, nurse advisor in oncology with Vitalité Health Network, have been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Guidry and Haché Losier are among a group of 30 registered nurses from across Canada who were recognized by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) for their remarkable contributions to nursing care and health care in their communities. They were awarded their medals at a special ceremony held recently in Ottawa that paid tribute to the recipients for their leadership, dedication, passion, and pride and for having given the best of themselves to the nursing profession.
“Nurses play a vital role in the accessibility and delivery of high-quality health care across New Brunswick,” said Geri Geldart, Vice President, Clinical, Horizon Health Network. “We are very proud of Ms. Guidry’s inspiring contributions to the nursing profession, and the exemplary commitment and dedication she shows to her patients.”
For her part, Annette LeBouthillier, Vice-President of Quality, Professional Practice, and Public Health for Vitalité Health Network, seized the opportunity to give special recognition to Ms. Haché Losier for her unparalleled commitment to nursing and her outstanding achievements in the areas of training and research. “The honour bestowed upon her is the crowning of her exemplary contribution to the advancement of cancer care,” she stated.
This prestigious award was created in 2012 for the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne as Queen of Canada. This commemorative medal has served to recognize the contributions and achievements of Canadians in all fields of activity.
