Who are we
Vitalité Health Network is a regional health authority providing and managing health care and services in an area covering northern and southeastern New Brunswick.
The Network is the only Francophone managed organization of its kind in the country and has nearly 60 points of service providing a range of health care and services to members of the public in the official language of their choice. The care and services provided include:
- Community and home-based care and services;
- Acute care (hospitals);
- Addiction and Mental Health Services;
- Public Health;
- Training and Research.
The Network has close to 8,000 part-time and full-time employees, 598 physicians and nearly 400 volunteers. The Network’s 2022-2023 budget was $775 million (excluding Medicare). Our points of service are distributed throughout our territory, and include:
- 11 hospitals: 5 regional hospitals and 6 community hospitals;
- 9 health centres;
- 5 clinics;
- 10 community mental health centres;
- 4 Addiction Service centres;
- 2 Veterans’ centres;
- 11 Public Health offices

Geographical zones in the Network
Acadie-Bathurst Zone
The Acadie-Bathurst Zone includes the region of Bathurst and vicinity and the Acadian Peninsula, with a population served of about 77,600. The zone has four hospitals and four health centres. Three hospitals in the zone provide 24-hour emergency services.

Beauséjour Zone
The Beauséjour Zone includes the region of Moncton and vicinity (population served of around 89,500). The zone has two hospitals, a regional medical centre, a veterans’ health centre, and an oncology centre. Both hospitals in the zone provide 24-hour emergency services.

Northwest Zone
Located at the border with Maine (United States) and Quebec, the Northwest Zone includes the region of Edmundston and vicinity, with a population served of about 47,800, including the Témiscouata region in Quebec. The zone has three hospitals, a health centre, and two clinics. All three hospitals in the zone provide 24-hour emergency services.

Restigouche Zone
Located at the border with Quebec, along the Restigouche River and the Baie of Chaleur, the Restigouche Zone includes the region of Campbellton and vicinity, with a population served of about 26,200. It also serves the Avignon Ouest RMC on Quebec’s Gaspé Peninsula. The zone has two hospitals, two health centres, a clinic, and a veterans’ unit. The Campbellton Regional Hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.
