Attracting and retaining talent

Recruitment and retention remain top priorities for Vitalité Health Network in order to support strong teams and meet the needs of the population.

As of September 2026

905 new hires, including 384 permanent positions; 143 permanent nursing positions; 4.5% voluntary turnover rate; 55 physicians have been hired since the beginning of the year, while 15 have left

Strengthening the next generation of physicians

The Network is also continuing its efforts to promote career opportunities and connect with future physicians at an earlier stage in their training.

Among the actions taken, it:

has presented the Network’s career opportunities to residents and medical students in the province;
is offering letters of agreement to all first-year residents at the Dieppe Family Medicine Unit, guaranteeing them employment with the Network upon completion of their residency;
hosted a gathering of first-year students during Dalhousie University’s orientation day in Halifax;
organized recruitment activities involving New Brunswick students and residents in Quebec City and Montreal, along with their Quebec counterparts;
welcomed 96 first- and second-year medical students over the summer for observerships and medical research internships.

These initiatives enable the Network to build relationships early with the next generation of physicians, highlight career opportunities in its communities, and strengthen its talent pool for years to come.
