Ongoing efforts in medical recruitment
Medical recruitment efforts continue to yield positive results. Since January 2026, 23 new physicians have joined Vitalité Health Network, versus only one departure.

The Medical Recruitment and Retention team organized many exploratory visits for candidates, and increased recruitment efforts across Canada.
The team had several exchanges with fourth-year students from the Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick and Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick. It also attended a pediatric recruitment event in Ottawa, and will soon be heading to Winnipeg for recruitment activities in emergency medicine.
New internationally-trained physicians join the Network
The second cohort of internationally-trained family physicians has recently successfully completed the Practice Ready Assessment New Brunswick Program (PRA-NB).
Among the physicians hired by Vitalité Health Network, two will start their practice in the Restigouche Zone, while another will work in the Acadie-Bathurst Zone. These new hires will directly improve access to care for patients in these regions.
The Practice Ready Assessment (PRA) program provides an accelerated route to licensure in New Brunswick for family physicians trained outside Canada. Administered by the College of Physicians and Surgeons ofNew Brunswick, the program assesses participants over a 12-week period, under the supervision of licensed physicians, to ensure they have the required skills and abilities needed to provide safe, quality care.
