Artificial intelligence supporting digital care pathways

The Vitalité Health Network is progressing in the evolution and optimization of digital health care.

The Network continues to expand its digital care pathways by integrating a new artificial intelligence feature into SeamlessMD, a platform that supports patients at various stages of their health care journey. Called Seamless Answers, this conversational AI feature provides patients with 24/7 answers based on clinician-approved content. The Network is one of the first health care systems to offer this type of service to its patients.

Originally launched to support patients undergoing selected surgical procedures, the SeamlessMD platform is now also used in gynecology and maternity care pathways. Available on phones, tablets, or computers, it allows users to receive personalized instructions, reminders, and educational content; track their progress; and, for some care pathways, report symptoms to the care team.

Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Seamless Answers responds to patients’ questions using only clinical information that has been approved by the Network and integrated into SeamlessMD. Each response links to its source, and if a question falls outside the scope of the available information, the patient is encouraged to contact their health care team.

This development provides patients with more accessible and interactive support, while maintaining safeguards appropriate to the clinical context and delivering information aligned with their care journey.
