The Network remained focused on improving access to primary health care
At present, 32 local family health teams are active in the communities we serve. Of these, 24 already provide rapid access, within 48 hours, for minor emergencies. This model is based on collaboration between different health care professionals to provide the population with accessible, coordinated care tailored to their needs.
The deployment of this collaborative approach has allowed us to take on more than 42,000 patients. Thanks to these efforts, 93% of the population served by the Network is now connected to a care provider.
We have continued to recruit new professionals in recent months: nurse practitioners, social workers and physiotherapists.
Our local family health teams now include 158 doctors and 44 nurse practitioners.
Stéphanie Roy, Assistant Vice-President – Health and Community Services, and Dr. Jean-Philippe Roy, a family physician in Edmundston, explain how team collaboration ensures that patients are cared for by the right professional, at the right time.
