Campbellton Regional Hospital: complete reopening of the Emergency Department
Campbellton, Monday, June 8, 2020 – Vitalité Health Network announces the complete reopening of the Emergency Department of the Campbellton Regional Hospital as of Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 8 a.m.
Emergency Department
"The facility's Emergency Department will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week starting tomorrow," announced Gilles Lanteigne, President and CEO of the Network. "We have enough nurses and doctors to move to a full reopening of this service," he said.
Region 5 is still in the orange phase of the Provincial Recovery Plan. It is extremely important to maintain a high level of vigilance and adhere to Public Health guidelines. All controls are in place to ensure patient and staff safety in the Emergency Department and throughout the facility.
Mild symptoms – family doctor or nurse practitioner rather than Emergency Department
Whenever possible, the Network asks people with mild symptoms to contact their family doctor, nurse practitioner or Tele-Care 811 before going to the Emergency Department of the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
Other non-urgent services
Ambulatory care services and non-urgent (elective) surgeries will be able to resume gradually over the next few days. The Network thanks the people of the Restigouche for their patience and understanding during this difficult period.
