Critical slowdown in emergency departments at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre and Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital this weekend

Vitalité Health Network, Saturday, December 3, 2022 – Due to a critical shortage of nursing staff at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital and a high traffic rate at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, the Emergency Services of these two hospitals will operate at very reduced capacity on the weekend until the end of the day on Monday, December 5.

However, the emergency departments of these two Vitalité Health Network hospitals remain open and patients with the most critical needs will be prioritized. Other patients can expect longer than usual wait times.
