Important changes at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Emergency Department
Vitalité Health Network, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 – Vitalité Health Network is informing Kent residents of an important change at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Emergency Department.
The service will be closed from 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 until 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12.
This change is due to a critical shortage of nursing staff.
During that period, anyone requiring emergency medical care will need to go to another hospital.
All ambulances will be rerouted to other hospitals. If you have a medical emergency, you must go to the ER of the nearest hospital or call 911.
If you're not sure whether your condition requires a visit to the ER, you can call the Tele-Care health line at 811.
People looking for an alternative to a visit to the ER can make an appointment with their family doctor or nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, go to a walk-in clinic, contact Tele-Care (811) or go online to eVisitNB.
The Network thanks the public for their understanding.
