Kedgwick’s move under Zone 5: Saint-Quentin has nothing to fear for its health care and services
Vitalité Health Network – Friday, March 3rd, 2023 – While the municipality of Kedgwick is now part of Zone 5, Vitalité Health Network would like to reassure the people of Saint-Quentin. The decision of the Department of Health will in no way affect the health care and services available in the region.
If you recall, in December 2022, the Department of Health accepted the request from the municipality of Kedgwick to move from Zone 4 to Zone 5. Following this decision, concerns were expressed about the maintenance of health care and services in the region.
“For Vitalité Health Network, this decision is purely administrative and in no way affects the delivery of health care and services in Saint-Quentin, which is based on the needs of the population. As they have been doing since the change came into effect on January 1, 2023, the residents of Kedgwick and Saint-Quentin will continue to benefit from the same points of service in the region, whether they come from Zone 4 or 5,” said Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO of the Network.
Other municipalities in the province are in similar situations and the delineation of zones is not a limiting factor in the health care and services available to residents. This change in no way threatens the maintenance of health care and services and the professional future of health care workers in Kedgwick and Saint-Quentin.
“The Network is committed to a transformation that aims to improve services for all. Our co-design approach with communities will also help us assess the needs of communities on an ongoing basis and prioritize and adapt our service offering,” said Dr. Desrosiers.
In a spirit of openness, transparency and cooperation, the Network is open to meeting with the representatives of Saint-Quentin to discuss and respond more effectively to the needs of residents, at their chosen point of service.
