Vitalité Health Network takes stock of achievements of recent months
Vitalité Health Network – Wednesday, June 21, 2023 – Vitalité Health Network released two important publications today, namely its Quarterly Report to the Community and its 2022–2023 Annual Report.
The Annual Report paints a picture of the Network over the past year as the organization has gradually turned the page on the pandemic and fully focused its efforts on the major transformations needed to meet current and future challenges.
In the report, Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO, explains the organization’s three major directions, namely patient experience, employee experience, and closer ties with our communities, and its two strategic priorities, namely improving access to primary health care and improving patient flow and hospital performance.
For his part, Vitalité Health Network’s trustee, whose mission ends on June 30, 2023, looked back over his mandate, which has included responsibility for implementing New Brunswick’s Health Plan.
“As my mandate as trustee comes to a close, I salute the members who were serving on the Board of Directors in 2022 and those who will do so in the near future,” stated Gérald Richard. “The new Board will inherit a strong Network that already has a vision, strategic priorities and a solid approach to achieving its objectives.”
Some of the highlights of the annual report include:
- The launch of robotic surgery technology;
- The deployment of a collaborative care model;
- The successes of single-session therapy;
- The implementation of individualized care management;
- The establishment of integrated mobile crisis response services;
- The expansion of meetings with communities.
“We have adopted a strategic management and rapid execution approach with highly targeted improvement projects designed to meet the needs we have identified on the ground,” Dr. Desrosiers explained. This is a demanding process that fully engages our teams in searching for and implementing solutions.
Another reason to celebrate: Vitalité Health Network has been recording more hires than departures since June 2022. This trend has held firm over the past 12 months, with a total of 469 hires versus 248 departures.
“Vitalité, Moving Toward the Future” Quarterly Report
The quarterly report looked at the organization’s recent progress and focused on its organizational performance.
There are 27 strategic improvement projects currently in the implementation phase in our four zones based on a rapid execution approach, and 14 others have now reached the control phase. Some of the highlights of the quarterly report include:
- An improvement project underway in the Emergency Department of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC;
- Reduced blood sampling waiting times at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC;
- The implementation of a digital tele-pathology system;
- Our international recruitment efforts;
- The mental health intervention initiatives underway in our emergency departments;
- The Community Health Needs Assessments completed and the development of learning communities.
“The accomplishments listed in these two reports eloquently attest to our team’s tireless efforts,” Dr. Desrosiers indicated.
“I salute the resilience and exemplary engagement of our health workers, who continue giving their all to meet the challenges we face.”
To continue the dialogue between Vitalité Health Network and the people the organization serves every day, Dr. France Desrosiers will take questions from the public on June 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., during a live session on the Zoom platform.
