Engaged communities make for healthy communities
We firmly believe that the health of the general public depends on close collaboration with communities. For this reason, the Network has taken steps to strengthen partnerships and ties with residents, organizations, foundations, and local decision‑makers.
Our commitment is based on three principles:
- Understanding local realities – The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) allows us to identify the specific strengths and challenges of each region to determine priorities and guide our actions;
- Supporting community engagement – We collaborate with residents, local organizations and the Network’s sectors with the aim of bringing them together and supporting initiatives that promote health and well-being;
- Facilitating an ongoing dialogue – We are committed to keeping the general public informed about decisions affecting health care and services, and involving them in these decisions.
By listening, collaborating and getting involved, we aim to recognize and celebrate the strengths of communities, while calling on them to contribute to the health of all.
