Janice Goguen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Social Communications from the University of Ottawa (1979) and has earned academic credits in psychology, marketing, and macroeconomics at the Université de Moncton. She has also completed numerous professional courses in leadership, financial analysis, and international trade within the Canadian public service.
With 30 years of experience at the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, where she held the role of International Trade Manager until 2012, Ms. Goguen now serves as Director and Co-founder of OLIVA Strategies, a consulting firm specialized in market development and government relations. She has advised numerous small and medium-sized businesses, local governments and economic associations, while facilitating projects such as the transition of the Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission (2022). She has also
served on a number of boards, including those of Vitalité Health Network (2020-2021), New Brunswick Community College (2015-2018) and Société du Monument-Lefebvre in Memramcook (2023 to date).
Actively involved in her community, Ms. Goguen has contributed to initiatives such as Women in Business New Brunswick and the Cultural Board of the City of Moncton. A mother of three adult children, she is committed to supporting Francophones’ language rights and equitable access to health care. She leads an active lifestyle, enjoying running, swimming, cycling, and cross-country skiing, while also exploring her creative side through textile arts.
