Northwest Breastfeeding Support Moms Program recognized as Leading Practice by the Health Standards Organization
Public Health in Zone North-West is proud to announce that its Breastfeeding Peer Support Program has officially been recognized as a Leading Practice by the Health Standards Organization (HSO).
This prestigious designation highlights the program’s commitment to excellence in breastfeeding support and its positive impact on the health of mothers and infants. Since its inception, the program has supported over 400 families, contributing to successful and enriching breastfeeding experiences.
Essential Support for Families
The program is built on the dedication of volunteer peer supporters who provide practical advice, emotional support, and resources while fostering an environment where every family feels valued and heard.
“This recognition as a leading practice is a tremendous source of pride for our team and volunteers. It reflects the quality of our approach and strengthens our mission to support families throughout their breastfeeding journey,” said Mélanie Bois, Coordinator of the Healthy Families, Healthy Babies program in Zone North-West.
The Breastfeeding Peer Support Program is a free community service aimed at supporting and encouraging breastfeeding individuals in their journey. It relies on experienced, trained volunteers who provide personalized support to new families.
