Originally from Quebec’s North Shore, Dr. Banville graduated in medicine from Université Laval in 1993. In 1998, she completed a specialty in anesthesiology and critical care at the same university, earning her FRCPC.
Upon obtaining her degree, she began her career as an anesthesiologist at Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. From 1998 to 2018, she held various leadership roles within the Vitalité Health Network, including president of the Credentials Review Committee, head of the anesthesia unit, and medical director of the Acadie-Bathurst Zone. She also served on the first Regional Medical Advisory Committee (CMCR) from 2009 to 2012. In 2018, she transitioned to an administrative career, becoming the regional medical director for the Vitalité Health Network. In 2021, she was appointed vice-president of medical affairs for the Network, a position she still holds today. In addition to medical affairs, Dr. Banville oversees transversal services (pharmacy, laboratories, respiratory therapy and electrodiagnostics, medical imaging, professional services), infection prevention and control, and the surgical program.
In her free time, she enjoys running, cycle touring, and golf.
