Mission
In order to fulfill its role, Public Health of Vitalité Health Network has defined its mission as follows:
Protect and promote the health of the population and prevent illness and injury in collaboration with various partners.
Essential public health functions
Public Health performs six essential functions to fulfill its mission:
- Ongoing monitoring of the population's state of health and related determinants;
- Promoting the population’s health;
- Illness and unintentional injury prevention;
- Protecting the population’s health;
- Emergency preparedness; and
- Evaluation.
Organizational chart
Public Health of Vitalité Health Network shares responsibility with several other departments and organizations for protecting and improving the health of the population and preventing disease and injury.
The organizational chart below illustrates the various departments involved.
Together, these partners share a common goal, namely to have healthy communities in a healthier world.
They share responsibility for:
- Reducing health inequalities;
- Keeping the population healthy;
- Preventing injury, illness, and premature death.
All these actions are carried out in collaboration with a range of partners, including communities, municipalities, schools, workplaces, community organizations, etc.
