Vitalité Health Network recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals
Vitalité Health Network is proud to be named one of Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals.
The Network ranks 5th among medium-sized research hospitals in terms of the increase in research funding.
The Network is also distinguished by its research intensity, with an average investment of $178,100 per researcher, emphasizing the importance of innovation.
This national recognition is the result of close collaboration between the Network and its research partners, including the Université de Moncton, the New Brunswick Centre for Precision Medicine, the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute, and the Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick, all dedicated to developing cutting-edge health care solutions.

An ongoing commitment to research
In 2023-2024, the Network's Research and Health Evaluation sector achieved :
- 289 research activities including:
- 78 research and evaluation projects
- 65 reviews of literature and best practices
- 66 knowledge transfer activities
In addition, 21 university research projects were implemented in collaboration with eight Canadian universities, strengthening the Network's university partnerships.
The Clinical Trials Support Unit assisted 36 clinicians in conducting 33 therapeutic clinical trials in collaboration with 12 pharmaceutical companies and 7 educational institutions, providing patients with access to innovative alternative treatments. Among these trials, eight new sponsored studies have begun, distributed as follows:
- 4 in Cardiology
- 3 in Respirology
- 1 in Internal Medicine
