Continuous learning-based strategic planning
In the wake of major challenges in health care, we have adopted a learning culture, and a continuous learning-based strategic planning model. This is an innovative and more adaptive and dynamic approach that will make us more productive by allowing us to continuously measure our progress, regularly review our priorities, and make adjustments as needed on an annual basis.
Aligned with the Government of New Brunswick’s provincial health plan, our continuous learning-based strategic planning is a systemic approach that allows us to define organizational priorities and lines of action, while adapting to issues and the environment. The successful implementation of continuous learning-based strategic planning relies on the commitment of all members of the organization and their adherence to the identified priorities.
This planning model will engage all stakeholders and provide the necessary flexibility to achieve our objectives more effectively. As for the strategic priorities identified, they meet real needs and mobilize teams on the ground involved in improvement efforts.
Projections and modelling are also performed annually, based on the historical use of our services and taking into account factors such an aging population, demographic changes, the incidence and prevalence of health problems and illnesses, and the early onset of health issues or illnesses related to a sedentary lifestyle or obesity, for example. This exercise allows us to make projections for the next 10 years.
