Highlights of the Board of Directors’ regular public meeting
Campbellton, Tuesday, January 20, 2025 – The Board of Directors of Vitalité Health Network held its regular public meeting on Tuesday, January 20, in Campbellton. Below are the highlights of the session.

Report by the President and CEO
In her report, Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO of the Network, presented the progress achieved in recent months, including:
- The development of local family health teams, which added 40,489 patients to their patient base;
- A reduction in the proportion of less urgent visits to emergency departments;
- Unprecedented results in physician recruitment, with 59 doctors recruited in 2025;
- The creation of the New Brunswick Health Research Institute;
- The return of ophthalmology services at the Campbellton Regional Hospital;
- The addition of local rheumatology care for the Pabineau First Nation.

Testimonial: Being cared for by a local family health team
The Board also heard the testimony of Rinette Parent, a patient who participated in the cardiac rehabilitation program in the Northwest Zone. This program offers personalized support combining exercise sessions and education to help patients adopt healthy lifestyle habits. An interdisciplinary team provides ongoing follow-up and support throughout recovery. Ms. Parent emphasized the importance of feeling supported and reassured after a cardiac event.
Presentation by the Restigouche Regional Service Commission
Representatives from the Restigouche Regional Service Commission presented their regional health care priorities. These focus on access to services and clinical care, recruitment and retention of human resources, and the availability of related community services.
The presentation also provided an opportunity to highlight the Commission’s involvement in several initiatives, such as exploratory visits to the region with health care workers, social activities for newcomers, and a discovery tour of the Restigouche region for students.
The Board of Directors meets at least four times a year, and meetings are open to the public. The next regular public meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., at 750 Main Street in Moncton.
