Reopening of beds at Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre

Lamèque, Tuesday, February 17, 2026 – Vitalité Health Network announces the reopening of the Transition Unit at Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre, which has now returned to its full inpatient capacity of 12 beds.

This reopening follows the completion of major upgrades to the air handling system on the second floor of the facility.

The new ventilation and air conditioning system maintains optimal temperature and humidity levels while ensuring better air quality for patients, employees, and visitors.

“This is excellent news for the residents of Île-de-Lamèque, but also for our teams, who can now resume their activities under optimal conditions,” said Jenny Toussaint, Vice-President of Clinical Logistics.
