Vitalité Health Network releases its quarterly report: more patients served and innovative solutions deployed
Vitalité Health Network, Monday, June 23, 2025 – Vitalité Health has released its latest quarterly report to the community, highlighting the steady progress made between April and June 2025. This document details advances made to improve patient flow in hospitals and increase access to primary care in communities.
Thanks to the expansion of local family health teams, an additional 31,774 patients have been connected to care providers. This innovative model, based on interdisciplinary collaboration, now includes 26 teams across the territory.
Currently, 19 teams offer appointments for minor emergencies within 48 hours, and the average wait time for non-urgent care has dropped from 17 to 10.9 days.
In addition, our teams have introduced several innovative solutions to enhance hospital performance:
- The TRACR application, developed by the Network, improves patient tracking, simplifies bed management, and optimizes care communication and coordination.
- At the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, optimizing the registration process at outpatient clinics has resulted in a 76% reduction in average wait time and eliminated backlogs.
Other highlights include:
- Addition of pediatric neurology consultation services at the Edmundston Regional Hospital.
- Launch of the Planet Youth Chaleur program, aimed at mobilizing the community to address substance use among youth.
- Hiring of new patient navigators dedicated to First Nations patients in the Restigouche and Beauséjour zones.
- Achievement of Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI) designation by Public Health in the Northwest zone, an international recognition awarded by the Breastfeeding Committee for Canada.
