Ophthalmology Services Return to the Restigouche Region

Vitalité Health Network is pleased to announce the return of ophthalmology services at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
An outpatient ophthalmology clinic is now available every Friday, allowing residents of the Restigouche region to once again access specialized care close to home.
Since 2020, patients had to travel to Bathurst for eye care. Thanks to an agreement with Dr. Robert Javidi’s clinic, a team of six ophthalmologists will provide diagnostic and follow-up examinations as well as a range of common medical treatments.
“We know that frequent travel could be challenging,” said Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO of the Network. “By offering ophthalmology services directly in Campbellton, we are greatly improving access to care and enhancing the experience for many patients.”
Among the first to benefit from the new service, Elda Mane Levesque of Val D’Amour shared her satisfaction: “It’s so convenient, especially for us seniors. I won’t have to find a driver during the winter anymore.”
Operational since early October, the new clinic will serve approximately 3,000 patients each year.
