Update Regarding the Emergency Department at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital

The emergency department at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital remains temporarily closed overnight on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays until May 4 inclusive.
Emergency visits will be accepted until 5 p.m. on those days, and services will resume at 8 a.m. the following morning.
In case of a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital:
- Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre – Moncton
- Miramichi Regional Hospital
- The Moncton Hospital
This temporary measure is due to a shortage of medical staff and is necessary to ensure the quality and safety of the care provided.
If you are unsure whether your condition requires a visit to the emergency department, you can contact Tele-Care by calling 811.
If your condition does not require immediate emergency care, several alternatives are available:
- Book an appointment with your family doctor or nurse practitioner.
- Consult your community pharmacist.
- Visit a walk-in clinic.
Vitalité Health Network is making every effort to strengthen its medical team and restore 24/7 emergency services as of May 5.
