Vitalité Health Network highlights the main achievements of the quarter
Vitalité Health Network, Tuesday, June 22, 2026– Vitalité Health Network is publishing its latest quarterly report, covering the months of April, May and June 2026, now presented in a new online format.
We have been working to transform primary health care toward more accessible and better coordinated team-based care. Two local family health teams were created in Moncton and Dieppe.
Since the implementation of local family health teams:
- 45,959 additional patients have been attached to a primary care team;
• 26 of the 34 active teams offer access within 48 hours for minor emergencies;
• 95% of the population served by the Network now has access to a primary care provider.

Over the past quarter, the Network also intensified its recruitment efforts in critical sectors through digital campaigns, partnerships with educational institutions and international recruitment. During the first five months of the year, 545 new permanent employees were hired, including 23 physicians and 96 registered nurses.

Highlights from the report include:
- The establishment of new monthly rheumatology clinics at Tracadie Hospital, St. Joseph Community Health Centre in Dalhousie, and Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre
- The development of a project to assess the contribution of artificial intelligence to patient flow management, in collaboration with the Université de Moncton’s Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence for Health.
- The launch of Planet Youth Northwest, a mobilization initiative aimed at creating environments that foster young people’s development, mental health and active participation in their community.
- The deployment of a single provincial platform for archiving and sharing medical images, replacing eight legacy systems and facilitating collaboration among clinical teams across all Network zones.
-
“Whether with our partners, staff members, communities, volunteers, various levels of government or citizens, we are convinced that it is through listening, collaboration and co-construction that we are able to meet challenges and build a strong and resilient health network, capable of responding to current and future needs,” said Dr. France Desrosiers, President and CEO.
