Call for Vigilance – Extreme Heat and Fire Risk
Wednesday 13 August 2025

Vitalité Health Network, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 – Due to high temperatures and an increased risk of fire, we urge everyone to be extra cautious to protect our facilities and their immediate surroundings.
As a reminder, during periods of extreme heat, a single piece of glass, a metal can, or a cigarette butt can be enough to start a fire.
On the grounds of the Vitalité Health Network and in surrounding areas:
- Pick up any waste that could present a hazard;
- Follow the Smoke-free Environment (100% smoke-free) policy: smoking or using any other device that produces smoke is strictly prohibited on the grounds of a hospital or any building operated by the Network, including inside parked vehicles.
If you notice a hazardous situation or the start of a fire, immediately notify the security team or a facility manager.
Thank you for your vigilance and cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
