Slowdown at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Emergency Department over the Weekend

Vitalité Health Network, Friday, August 15, 2025 – The Emergency Department at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital will experience a slowdown over the weekend, from Friday, August 15 at 4:00 p.m. until Sunday at 8:00 p.m., due to an unexpected shortage of physicians.

The service will remain open at all times, with medical coverage available 24 hours a day. All patients who come to the Emergency Department will be assessed by a triage nurse.

Patients whose health condition requires immediate care will be treated. Patients whose condition is less urgent should expect longer wait times during this period.

Do not attempt to assess the severity of your symptoms on your own. If you have any douts about your health condition, it is preferable to visit the emergency department for an evaluation by a health professional.
