Launch of an online self-booking service for X-rays in the Northwest
Vitalité Health Network, Tuesday, April 21, 2026 – Patients in the Northwest region can now book their own appointment for a general X-ray through a new online self-booking service introduced by Vitalité Health Network.
Simple and available at all times, this platform allows patients to select their preferred date and time based on their availability. The goal is to provide more flexible access to medical imaging services while improving the patient experience.
For the time being, this service is available at hospitals in the Northwest region: Grand Falls General Hospital, Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Joseph de Saint-Quentin and Edmundston Regional Hospital. It will be gradually rolled out to other Network zones at a later date.
“This new tool is designed to make appointment booking easier and provide access to our services that is better adapted to the realities of our patients. We want to give them more control over their care journey while reducing the number of missed appointments,” said Josée Gagnon, Vice President – Corporate Services at Vitalité Health Network.
Patients may use the online self-booking platform if they have an order (requisition) issued by a physician or nurse practitioner indicating that an X-ray is required.
Once they have received their requisition, patients simply need to access the online platform using a computer, tablet or phone and enter the required information. Patients may choose the facility that works best for them.
Healthcare providers may also use this tool to book appointments on behalf of their patients.
On the day of the appointment, patients must bring their requisition to the hospital.
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, patients may use the link included in their confirmation email or contact the Medical Imaging Department of the hospital where the appointment was booked.
